NAP-JAK & NaP-Pak
NapJak is an inflatable jacket system that allows an individual to nap in any environment. This started as a project for class; I wanted to solve my traveling and napping issues. I take a lot of power naps and travel by bus to visit family. Every time, I wish to have some system to make minor adjustments to take enjoyable naps anywhere.
NapJak has pouches on the back and neck area, and a motor pump will fill those up. Once inflated, the individual turns off the motor, and the bags stay sealed. Much research had to be done for heat sealing and ensuring that the pouches held together.
Most recently, I have created and used the Nap-Pak. It is a small inflatable pillow that is easy to inflate and put away. I was able to use a laser cutter for sealed fabric and a unique, flexible, and airtight 3D print material to create a clean and functional prototype. It was used during my commute to work on public transit. This prototype is also a test bed for methods to use in future Nap-Jak iterations.
This project was moved from just a prototype to an entrepreneurship idea. The functionality was not emphasized; it was more of a startup's concept and implementation. I used this for multiple entrepreneurship classes and some entrepreneurship competitions.
NAP-PAK
Inflating Nap-Pak with a micro pump while on the train. This micropump has high flow rate and decent pressure. I will be creating a smaller and quieter version so that it is attached to the Nap-Pak.
