Spirit Buggy
Buggy is a self-made sport at Carnegie Mellon University. A person goes inside the vehicle and goes downhill at speeds up to 40 mph. In certain sections of the racing course, a person must push the buggy uphill; we call them pushers.
Our team, Spirit, has to create the buggy systems out of carbon fiber. We make the molds, layup the carbon fiber, and bag them.
I was a mechanic for the team, which entailed weekend practices, buggy maintenance, and upgrades. As a senior team member, I created upgrades and new systems research equipment by implementing electromechanical designs.
